English band Field Music released its newest album this past week. Field Music (Measure), a long (20 track, 70 minute) album is a collection of mostly unrelated tracks with the common theme of being incredibly repetitive and for the most part, vastly uninteresting. The album has some fairly strong tracks, but a few among a full score is simply not enough to give Field Music (Measure) a score that is anywhere near decent.

OneRepublic (yes, without the space) has been active since 2002, but only produced its first album in 2007. Since then, it has released numerous singles, and most recently, its sophomore album. Waking Up is best described as a mix of indie, some rock, and a healthy portion of pop. But while the three genres are easily among the simplest to combine, something clearly went awry with Waking Up.

Fastball has been around since 1994. After cycling through a number of potential names, the band finally settled on Fastball, derived from the members' favorite porn film. Since its inception, Fastball has produced five albums, including that of this review, Little White Lies, as well as a number of singles, a few compillations, and a whole slew of soundtrack cameos. While the band has diminished in popularity in recent years, their albums have certainly been very popular: All the Pain Money Can Buy went platinum soon after its release. Their latest release though, sounds much more like the band named after a porno than the group of experienced, platinum selling artists.
